The SENIEER vacuum emulsifying mixer with holding tank is designed for efficient batch production of creams, ointments, lotions, gels, and other viscous products. The system integrates mixing, homogenization, emulsification, material transfer, and intermediate storage to create a smoother connection between emulsification and filling

After emulsification and homogenization are completed, the finished product can be quickly transferred from the main emulsifying vessel to the holding tank through a rotor pump. Once the main vessel is emptied, the next production batch can start immediately, while the previous batch is stored in the holding tank and continuously supplied to the filling machine.

This configuration helps separate the emulsifying and filling processes, reducing waiting time and improving overall production efficiency.

  1. Tilt-to-Discharge

The vessel discharges its contents using a hydraulic lifting and tilting mechanism.

Basic process → Lift the vessel → Open the lid → Tilt the vessel → Pour out the material directly.

Advantages: Intuitive structure and simple operation.

However, if high-viscosity material needs to be transferred to a higher elevation, the efficiency and suitability of the tilting method are limited.

  1. Pressure Discharge

Where permitted by the vessel design and process requirements, filtered compressed air can be used to assist discharge.

After sealing the vessel, filtered compressed air is used to pressurize the interior; the bottom discharge valve is then opened to force the material out.

Advantages:

No additional transfer pump required

Relatively simple discharge structure.

Disadvantages:

Limited transfer height.

Especially with high-viscosity ointments, pressure transfer capability decreases as the transfer height increases, potentially failing to meet discharge requirements.

  1. Rotary Pump Discharge

For high-viscosity ointments, if the requirements include:

  • Rapid discharge
  • Transfer to a higher elevation
  • Connection to filling equipment
  • Reduced manual labor
  • Increased production efficiency

then configuring a rotary pump is recommended.

Compared to slow manual extrusion, using a rotary pump significantly improves discharge efficiency, reduces waiting times, and prevents bottlenecks in downstream production.

Someone think that the emulsifier can directly pump the material to the filling machine, so why is a holding tank still needed?

In practice, the primary value of the transfer drum lies in enabling the parallel operation of emulsification and filling processes.

For example

Emulsifier → Rotor Pump → holding Tank → Filling Machine

Once the first batch of material has been processed:

  • The emulsifier is immediately freed up;
  • Production of the next batch can begin right away;
  • The first batch is transferred to a buffer tank;
  • The filling machine simultaneously draws material from the buffer tank for the filling process.

This creates a workflow of:

Continuous production in the emulsification workshop + continuous filling in the filling workshop.

Since the two processes do not have to wait for one another, overall production efficiency is significantly improved.

Without a buffer tank—if material were instead supplied to the filling machine directly in small, frequent batches—the following issues would likely arise:

  • Idle time for the emulsifier;
  • Idle time for the filling machine;
  • Frequent manual intervention by operators;
  • Disruption of the production rhythm;
  • A decline in overall efficiency.

Therefore, for manufacturers requiring continuous or multi-batch production of creams, ointments, lotions, and gels, SENIEER recommends adding a holding tank to improve overall production efficiency.
